Angela was born and raised in Maryland. Now a Double Terp, she is a third year medical student (Class of 2021) at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is interested in pursuing internal medicine. Prior to medical school, she received her B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Global Poverty from the University of Maryland, College Park. She was heavily involved with the Multicultural Greek Council, during which she raised money for survivors of domestic violence and acted as a mental health liaison for her organization with the campus health center. She spent her junior and senior years as an Emergency Department scribe. In her summers, she conducted basic science research at the NIH. Currently, she is involved in multiple research projects in gastroenterology and infectious diseases. Navigating the medical school admissions process is challenging and intimidating, but Angela is invested in her mentees and wants to lend as much support as they may need!
