Timber Burnette is a PhD student and National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow (NSF GRF) in the Anna Sala lab in Ecology and Evolution at the University of Montana. They earned their B.A. in Biology with Honors from Grinnell College and their M.A. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Kansas. Timber studies plant adaptation and responses to drought, examining when, why, and where trees die from drought. Outside of the lab, Timber loves to run, obsess over RuPaul’s Drag Race, and hike.
