She/her/hers

Dr. Christine Vazquez is a Provost Postdoctoral Fellow at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her BS in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Johns Hopkins University and her PhD in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at Duke University. Her research focuses on understanding how emerging viral pathogens evade antiviral immune responses. She is particularly interested in how viruses that infect non-neuronal cells bypass interferon signaling to infiltrate the blood-brain barrier. Outside of the lab, you can find Dr. Vazquez reading, volunteering, taking a spin class, trying to cook, or traveling.
