​Christine completed her undergraduate education at Virginia Tech in 2021. While there, she earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Experimental Neuroscience and Medicinal Chemistry and graduated as the Virginia Tech College of Science Outstanding Senior. Her undergraduate research began in an industrial-organizational psychology research lab studying the relationship between pedestrians and autonomous vehicle performance. In 2018, she joined the Buczynski-Gregus Lab to study the molecular underpinnings of addiction neuropathology. Throughout her undergraduate career, she was fortunate to receive STEM-based scholarships and fellowships including the Astronaut Scholar Foundation Astronaut Award as well as the Clare Boothe Luce Research Fellowship. She was also an organic chemistry teaching assistant, resident advisor, and department ambassador. Christine will be joining the University of Pennsylvania Pharmacology Graduate Group in the fall of 2021. Outside of school, she is a lover of all water sports, coffee enthusiast, and world traveler (in non-pandemic times). She is excited to be joining the Project SHORT team!
