She/her/hers

Briana (who goes by Bree) is a Biophysicist studying neural circuits and plasticity as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Bree received her PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Miami. Prior to that, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Bree's research focuses on plasticity of inhibitory circuits in sensory cortex, at both the cellular and circuit level. Bree is especially interested in how changes in cellular excitability and synaptic strength change circuit output and how these processes may be disrupted in neurological and psychiatric diseases. She is passionate about communicating science and inspiring everyone to find their inner scientist.
