Anvita is a first year PhD student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) in the Department of Mental Health as a T32 Global Mental Health Predoctoral Fellow. Prior to starting her PhD program, she received her MSPH at JHSPH with a certificate in the Evaluation of International Health Programs and her B.S., in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She interested in global mental health, women�s health, and comorbidities between physical and mental health. During her masters, Anvita spent 6 months in South Africa supporting an implementation science trial and focused on understanding the prevalence of depression among HIV positive FSW. She credits her success to immensely supportive mentors and is committed to providing mentorship to underrepresented and first-generation students who are passionate about the field of public health. Outside of research Anvita enjoys yoga and baking bread.
