Andrea Guzmán obtained her BS in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico in Río Piedras in 2016. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania under the mentorship of Dr. Jim Delikatny. Her research focuses on the design and development of probes for cancer molecular imaging. Specifically, she uses Cerenkov Radiation to image tumor microenvironment pH. In addition to her studies, Andrea co-founded Pharm4GOOD and Penn Helps Puerto Rico and she actively volunteers in outreach opportunities. She is currently a mentor in the New York Academy of Sciences 1000 Girls, 1000 Futures program. Outside of the lab, Andrea spends her time reading novels, baking and taking care of her bunny, Bartolomeo.
