Alisha is a 5th-year PhD student in Clinical Psychology (Forensic) at Drexel University. Prior to graduate school, Alisha received her BS in Human Development from Cornell University, where she also taught creative writing courses to incarcerated men. She then worked as a Research Associate at NYU/Bellevue Hospital Center in Manhattan, NY on a clinical trial examining medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. As a doctoral candidate, Alisha's research focuses on the intersection of substance use disorders, trauma exposure, and justice-involvement. Her clinical training has focused on the evidence-based treatment of underserved and diverse populations, with an emphasis on trauma-informed care. In her spare time, Alisha enjoys traveling, photography, and waiting patiently for her cat to pay attention to her.
