She/her/hers

Alex is a 4th year PhD student in Educational Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studies children’s mathematical thinking and learning, and she’s especially interested in the role of visual representations in math education. Alex came to graduate school after earning a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Notre Dame in 2017. She grew up in rural Wisconsin and was excited to find a lab that was a great fit for her research interests and also close to family. Outside of research, Alex enjoys playing piano, reading fiction, binging Netflix shows, and running.
