Sara Vandenburgh

Director of Pre-Grad Programming

Sara is currently a PhD student at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in the Biomedical Science graduate program and is a member of the UCSD Program in Immunology. Sara earned her bachelor's degree in Developmental Genetics at the University of California, Berkeley in 2021. As a graduate student, Sara now studies the role of the adaptive immune system in response to an acute viral infection under the mentorship of Dr. John Chang. Sara has served as a Project SHORT mentor since 2021and is excited to continue improving graduate school accessibility as a member of the executive board. Outside of lab, Sara enjoys cycling up the Southern Californian coast and growing vegetables in her garden.
