Samuel Cohen obtained his BS in Chemistry and Mathematics (double major) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Before studying science, he studied literature and philosophy for two years in Paris. He is currently finishing his PhD in Physical Chemistry at the University of Maryland, College Park. His research involves mainly neutron scattering and molecular simulation of some relatively simple liquids that are used as model systems in the study of liquids. He wants to mentor a more junior scientist to help them navigate the PhD process. He enjoys photography, cooking, hiking with his wife, reading poetry and historical tomes, and pontificating about science.
