Rick is a first year Neuroscience PhD student at Washington University in St. Louis. He studies the neural and psychological mechanisms behind rapid acting anti-depressants such as psilocybin and ketamine.
Originally from St. Augustine, Florida, Rick received his bachelor's from the University of Miami where he majored in computer science and psychology. There his research focused on using fMRI, geolocation tracking, and ecological momentary assessment to investigate how real-world exploration and novelty seeking impacts affective dynamics and the brain.
Outside of research, Rick enjoys dancing (primarily hip-hop), basketball, and board/video games.
