Quincy Gu is a current PhD student in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Program delivered by the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and trained at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Sciences. He holds his bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in mathematics. Since he has a strong interest in medicine, he decided to pursue his graduate level education in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, which is a innovative research field to apply mathematics and computer science in solving real-world challenging medical problems. His current research focuses on developing Artificial Intelligence program to automatically detect the lesions from pathological Whole Slide Images, and identifying the relationship between genomic mutation status and lesion regions from the histology images. Besides research, he likes to travel, build mobile apps or web-based apps for fun, play video games and definitely drink beer.
