She/her/hers

Amy is a PhD student at the University of California, Los Angeles in the Interdepartmental Neuroscience Program. She got involved in research as an undergraduate student with the intention of strengthening her medical school application. After graduating, she took a gap year to study for the MCAT while getting additional research experience at the Scripps Research Institute. As she became increasingly interested in studying how the brain perceives and interacts with the world, she decided to pursue a PhD and career in research. As a first-generation college student from a low-income family, she is dedicated to providing equity-minded mentorship to all students through their career exploration and graduate school preparation.
