Matthew received a B.A. in psychology at Cedarville university with a minor in philosophy. He's now working on a Ph.D in Cognitive & Brain Sciences at University of Nevada, Reno where he's using fMRI and machine learning to understand the human visual system. As a bisexual man raised in an environment in which both his sexuality and scientific interests were strongly discouraged, he's passionate about ensuring higher-education opportunities for everyone to develop as students and scientists. In addition to his research, he loves books and films, fitness, and board games.
