Maria is currently working towards a PsyD at Widener University and is interested in pursuing an MEd in Human Sexuality as well. She would love to contribute to the literature on gaming and psychology during her time at Widener. She graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 2019 with a B.A. in Behavioral Biology and Psychology, and is a first-generation college student (with her siblings not far behind). At Hopkins, Maria was a part of MAPP (Mentoring Assistance Peer Program) and was able to mentor other students from underrepresented backgrounds. When she started undergrad, she was interested in pursuing an MD, but with the help of her own mentors found a path that was more fitting for her interests and passion. Maria is interested in working with children and adolescents and worked as a Program Aide at a special education elementary/middle school before starting at Widener. Her interests include gaming and spending time with her dog Azro.
