Laveena is a third year medical student who has lived in seven different states and traveled to 26 different countries prior to her 26th birthday. These experiences have given her a love for diversity and understanding the human condition. Her medical school application focused around her desire to help others by understanding their story, driven by her work in undergrad as a medical scribe, and after medical school as a Teach for America corps member in urban Houston. She is pursuing Family Medicine in hopes of helping individuals take charge of their own health.In her free time, she likes to spend time with her three rescue dogs, taking photos, and spending time exploring nooks of Texas.
