Jamie Peven is currently completing her Clinical Psychology predoctoral internship at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System. She is in her 6th (and final) year of the Clinical/Biological-Health Psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2012 and an M.S. from Pitt in 2017. In between graduating from U of M and starting grad school at Pitt, Jamie worked at the University of Illinois at Chicago in adjacent labs studying the effects of vascular risk factors and major depression on brain aging. Her major research interests include the relationships between habitual physical activity engagement, cardiorespiratory fitness, brain health, and cognitive functioning in midlife/older adults. Outside of the lab, Jamie enjoys cooking and hiking with her partner and dog. She is excited to work with students through Project SHORT who are interested in pursuing careers that bridge academia and clinical work.
