Dr. Ballard is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his PhD in Neurosciences from Stanford University and his B.S. in Theoretical Neuroscience from Duke University. Dr. Ballard is a cognitive neuroscientist whose interests include learning, memory and decision-making. His methodological expertise includes fMRI and computational modeling. Outside of the lab, Dr. Ballard's interests include LGBTQ+ advocacy, camping, and his cat Emerson.
