Haley Potts is a third-year Ph.D. student in the clinical psychology program (with a focus in "law and psychology," also known as forensic psychology) at the University of Alabama. She is originally from Mobile, Alabama, and she completed her undergraduate degree in anthropology and women’s studies at Sewanee: The University of the South. She earned a master’s degree in forensic psychology from the University of Denver. Her research interests include forensic assessment, competency to stand trial, mental state at the time of the offense, serious mental illness, and competency restoration. She enjoys working as a therapist and evaluator with individuals in the criminal justice system who have serious and persistent mental illnesses, particularly those with psychotic-spectrum disorders such as Schizophrenia.
