Gabby is a 4th year medical student at the FAU College of Medicine. She lived in Florida her whole life before getting her B.S. in neurobiology at Duke University in North Carolina. Following graduation, she stayed on campus to work as a research technician in a lab focused on the neurobiology of addiction. Once accepted to medical school, she has dedicated most of her time to pediatric advocacy, specifically calling for further training for all medical practitioners to screen for and recognize the signs of child sexual abuse. She is also passionate about Latinx health care and addressing health disparities in her community. She plans on applying to pediatric residencies in the 2020 cycle and couples matching with her fiancé, who will be applying to emergency medicine. She hopes to pursue a pediatric emergency medicine fellowship and to continue to advocate for children and all immigrant populations. Gabby is looking forward to getting to know future applicants and giving them advice to achieve their personal goals!
