Emily Mroz, MS, is a doctoral candidate in the department of Psychology at the University of Florida. A developmental psychologist and gerontologist by training, Emily's research focuses on death, dying, bereavement, and end-of-life care. Emily's research goals include examining and improving reflection on, and preparation for, death for individuals across the adult lifespan, and determining pathways for positive psychosocial outcomes following loss experiences. To achieve these research goals, Emily employs mixed-methods. Much of her research centrally employs qualitative methods, for example, narrative analysis of participant's recalled life stories. She also designs, evaluates, and tests interventions for improving care coordination, communication, and aptitude within and outside of medical centers. In her free time, Emily enjoys hiking, swimming, and painting.
