Corinne Carlton is currently in her 3rd year in the clinical psychology PhD program at Virginia Tech. Her core research interests focus on three guiding themes within social anxiety disorder and social anhedonia: 1) identifying reward-based mechanisms that influence treatment effectiveness; 2) uncovering neurobiological influences involved in the development and maintenance of socially-valenced psychopathology; and 3) optimizing evidence-based treatments based on these newly identified mechanisms. She is also interested in the following areas as they relate to her core research areas: adolescence; positive affect; early adversity.
Outside of research, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, camping, and binge watching shows on Netflix.
