Alyssa is a student at Northwestern University completing her Masters of Science degree in Regulatory Compliance. She has over 5 years of experience as a Clinical Coordinator in an academic research setting, working on both clinical and regulatory aspects of clinical trials.
Alyssa received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, and Master of Arts in Counseling from the University of Detroit Mercy. While at Detroit Mercy, she completed her thesis on the similarities of substance use disorders and food dependence, and also worked with patients within the scope of addiction counseling. While a student, she volunteered as a Research Assistant in a psychology lab focusing on eating disorders and addiction, and was also a Graduate Research Assistant focusing on psychopharmacology education in the counseling field.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Alyssa began her work in psychiatric research and learned the process of working with volunteers, graduate students, and various types of professionals. Within this role, and also through her own application and interviewing experience, Alyssa has garnered a greater understanding of the graduate school process and journey. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, touring museums, and spending time with family.
