Alex went to college at UCLA, where she majored in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. After graduating in 2017, she moved to Bethesda, MD to do research at the NIH through the Postbac Intramural Research Training Award program. Her research focus at UCLA and the NIH was in parasitology and tumor virology, respectively. She applied and was accepted to both MD and MD/PhD programs and will begin an MD/PhD program at UCSD this fall. Her current research interests for graduate school are immunology and/or infectious diseases. When she is not in the lab, Alex enjoys doing yoga, singing with her acapella group, and being a mediocre runner.
